But his spirit was never tarnished, Three years after his placement in Palmdale California. I received a blackmail call to pay $300.00 dollars to take Sammy back. I placed him for free, but the family was breaking up and needed to recouped the cost of feed that the spent on Sammy during the time the had him. Below
“ Ashley” A Rescued Congo African Grey that was beaten its owner. I use to cowered in the bottom of its cage afraid of humans after its owner died. I took two years for her to come out of her shell. She had a 2’ foam padded flooring because it jumped to the bottom of the cage when she saw a human. Now, 5 years later, she trust humans, steps up, lets you scratch her. She knows every birds name in the Sanctuary. She speaks over twenty commands to the birds. In addition; she has a vocabulary of over 250 words and phrases.

“Emmy” A rescued Medium Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo that was rescued & abandoned in an apartment। We were summoned by our local Vancouver Police Department on a Sunday on a clod evening when this wonderful Parrot was found by the apartment manager. She was shivering, with an large spilled bowl of seed and no water.

Below
“Coco” a Ducorp's Cockatoo that was tormented by teenagers with soda cans thrown at his custom made cage. Due to his new found environment. The gentleman who made his cage was single for years. He met his new girlfriend; now wife. And “Coco” recognized her perfume when she moved in. He attacked her numerous times. When she came home from a graveyard shift, “Coco” broke out of his cage, snuck down the hallway.
Then chewed through the door. Climbed up the bed and tried to bight her pinky toe off.
Two days later while under medication, when this lady walked out of the shower dizzy on pain medication। She was petrified to discover that “Coco” escaped again and was waiting for her. She passed out. When she awoke, she discovered her toe being severed off. Then I got the call to save “CoCo’s life.
Behind “Coco” is “PaPa” a 17 Year old Full flight Cockatiel for the last five years when he was placed with us.
(This is where I came up with the saying on interviews. “How MUCH do you really like your significant other?)

Below
“Penny” A Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo. A recent returned bird due to a family emergency. Three months prior she was placed, due to a family that agreed that they were neglecting her. They were referred by a friend who placed three large and medium birds with us just six days prior.
Below
These two Twenty-two year old Congo African Greys were brought to us from the other side of Mount St. Helens. A two hour one way drive!
Referred to us by their Avian Doctor.
The male was a proven breeder.
The Female was born from another clutch and was traded for another clutch the same age of the elderly male. They were forced to be housed together.
TOO SOON.; Without the proper introduction of courtship.
Needless to say the pet quality diminished quickly from the tame female. She became confused and adapted to her new found world. Never breed. The Good humans looked through the birds eye’s on their behalf. They threw the thought of profit out the window and called us.

Below
A few assorted Parakeets। Most folks have no idea how smart Parakeets are
They have been discounted as a throw away bird.

This poor pair of Cockatiels were found housed in a parakeet cage. Now they get to fly and sleep in a large room. (Cage)

06-17-2010 Here is a brief peek at the rescued wild fledgling Quaker from Yacolt Washington. I plant to post a special seven video post about this Quaker, with testimonies from local residence. This is “SchelWeicher”
Named by the Welkers who held this rescued fledging Quaker parrot that needed to be in temporary sanctuary until he can fly back with his flock soon. He seems to enjoy his temporary home.

As is “SchelWeicher” looks out of the window. She/He wants to fly out over the Llama named “Dolly Llama”
“Dolly the Llama was renamed by a dear internet friend,
Shannon Marie of Michigan.
I have never met Shannon in person; but she is a true angle! We meet on the internet. And she has helped us with aide from day one.
God Bless you Shannon!
